Ultraligh car ORION

Ultraligh car ORION has been built with epoxy resin and carbon fiber woven fabrics. All the loads are carried out by composite parts (no need of metal part usage). The totall mass of the presented body equals to 45 kg. Aerodynamic behavior is one of the key futures of the geometry. In addition, few parts of suspension has been also built with composite materials.

About the project

The epoxy resin system has been selected to fulfill requirements foreseen for environmental working conditions: from -300C up to +400C.

 

To build the structure two basis composite technologies has been used: wet technology and infussion technology
